Ran 23.05klms in a time of 1:39:12. Average pace of 4:16 per klm. Marathon pace.
Average heart rate of 151 BPM.
Very happy with this run. Very windy, a 10knot breeze was blowing this afternoon/evening.
Just felt like I was in the zone. Very relaxed.
Went through the first 10klms in 42:57. Feeling relaxed about Canberra.
Not sure about running the marathon at 4:30 pace or pushing it faster.
Have 3 weeks of training left and then the taper to decide.

Yeah, definitely smoking at the moment Superflake. You are flying. What are you eating down there in Melbourne?
As for what pace to run at in Canberra, you should use your long run on 20/3/05 as a Time Trial. That is the day that several Canberra marathoners will be running the 30km at SMC. They will try and simulate race conditions and run it at marathon pace. I think that in the form you are in, you should be able to run quicker than 4:30 pace but only you will know the right pace for you and whether you will feel comfortable running it. So use that long run as a guide because you want to have a fairly good idea well before the day of the marathon. Good luck with it.
It's great that you are feeling so good Superflake. Seems to me that you can afford to set out a bit faster than the 4:30. There's no rule says you can't ease back at any stage.
Very pleased that you're going so well, Superflake; not long to wait for Canberra taper now! LL
