State Road Relays 4x4k

Down to Wollongong for the Aths NSW Road Relays hosted by Kembla Joggers.
Striders only had two male teams and one female team.

The open A male team of Chris Truscott, Tim Rowe, Andrew Tuckey and Glenn Guzzo were 2nd and scored the Striders first Open A relay medal since we have been registered. I think that is only about 5 years. Plus Tim ran 11:34 for 2nd fastest time of the day and Guz 11:37 for equal 4th fastest time. Guz nearly ran down Jeff Hunt to snatch 1st of Randwick-Botany, missed him by about 50m.

The B team was Craig Dunn, myself, EJ Davie and Sparkie. After racing in the morning the legs didn't have too much power in them. Managed a 15:04 for the 4k. The team was 6th I think.

Pretty windy down at the gong but a good course to run on.

Now for City 2 Surf. Feeling much more confident of cracking 55 mins after the 10k this morning. Just have to run the 6-10k section a lot better. See you at the start sports fans!

Best of luck at cracking 55 for the C2S, Flakey. If your recent 10k times are anything to go by you will give it a real shake. Still a goal of mine to get into that territory too.

Thanks also for your most recent comment on my blog and the Star Wars reference. It's always comforting to know that if I ever visit the Planet of the Ewoks that I will find a fan club.

Good result for the Striders. Think of that 4k on Military Rd next Sunday. Something in the 14:30-15 range is possible with the downhill.

A couple of good runs there Flake. You seem to have recovered from your Flu very well. I wouldn't care what Blue Dog's mum would say. There is no way I am going to run in 3 degrees not wearing gloves. That's not being soft, it's just being sensible.
